Multiplicative inverse of a number x (also called the reciprocal of the number) is is that number which when multiplied by x, results in the product 1. 

e.g. for the fraction x/y, the multiplicative inverse is y/x, since (x/y)*(y/x) = 1.

You would see from the above definition that multiplicative inverse of -11/23 will be -23/11.
