You can put this solution on YOUR website!
if the store increases sales $5000 foe
every $1500 it spends on advertising
then, $4500/$1500 = 3.
Therefore sales will increase by
3 * $5000 = $15000.
Hope this helps you.

The store's "rate" of sales increase is
+50000+%2F+1500+ ( sales increase ) / ( advertising spent )
Let +s+ = sales increase if the store spends $4500 on advertising
-------------
You can set up a ratio:
+50000+%2F+1500+=+s+%2F+4500+
+500+%2F+15+=+s+%2F+4500+
+100+%2F+3+=+s+%2F+4500+
+100%2A4500+=+3s+
+s+=+150000+
sales will increase $150,000 if $4,500 is spent on advertising

$4500 is 3 times as much as $1500 so sales must have increased 3 times as much
as they would have increased if they had spent only $1500, and 3 times $5000
is $15000.
