The total number of pages is:

Rewrite as: L+=+21+-+S
The total number of words is:
1800L+%2B+2400S+=+48000....eq.2
Substitute the L+=+21S into the second equation and solve for S.
1800%2821+S%29+%2B+2400S+=+48000
37800+-+1800S+%2B+2400S+=+48000
+600S+=+48000-37800
+600S+=+10200
+S+=+10200%2F600
