Hello,
Here's what we do:
Plug in the values 2, -3, 4 into the polynomial to see if it comes to zero, for example replace x with 2.
p(x)=x^3-3x^2-10x+24
p(x)=2^3-3(2)^2-10(2)+24
What do we get?
p(2)=8-12-20+24
p(2)=0
OK, so 2 works. Try the other numbers to see what you get.
