You can
put this solution on YOUR website!
2(x+1) (x+3)+8= (2x+1) (x+5)
2(x^2 + 4x + 3) + 8 = (2x^2 + 11x + 5)
2x^2 + 8x + 6 + 8 = 2x^2 + 11x + 5
Collect like terms
2x^2 - 2x^2 + 8x - 11x + 14 - 5 = )
-3x + 9 = 0
-3x = -9
x = 3
Proof:
2(x+1) (x+3)+8= (2x+1) (x+5)
2(3 + 1)(3 + 3) + 8 = (6 + 1)(3 + 5)
2 * 4 * 6 + 8 = 7 * 8
56 = 56
Hope this helps.
