Divide a percentage by 100 to get the decimal value.
25%/100 = 0.25
300+%2B+0.25%2A300+=+375
The price went up to 375.
375+-+375%2A0.25+=+281.25
At the clearance sale the coat was down to $281.25. That means that it was under the original value of the coat. This is because the larger the number, the higher the same percentage would be. For example 25% of 1 is 0.25. But 25% of 4 is 1.
