A linear equation can be expressed in the form y = mx + c where m is the slope and c is the y intercept (the value of y when x = 0, or the point where the line intersects the y axis)
Here, we know the slope m(3) and one instance of x and y (-2,-2). We don't know c.
By substituting for m,x and y we have
-2 = -2*3 + c
or c+=+4
So the line's equation is y+=+3x+%2B+4 or 3x+-+y+=+-4
