You can put this solution on YOUR website!
x and y whole numbers.
x%2By=14 and abs%28x-y%29=2

One way is try y=14-x and substitute into the abs val equation.
abs%28x-%2814-x%29%29=2
abs%28x-14%2Bx%29=2
abs%282x-14%29=2
2%2Aabs%28x-7%29=2
abs%28x-7%29=1

Either x-7=1 Or 7-x=1.
x=8 or x=6

The sum of the digits of a two digit number is 14. The difference between the tens digit and the units digit is 2. Find the number

Let the tens and units digits be T and U, respectively

Then: T + U = 14 ------ eq (i)
Also, T - U = 2 ----- eq (ii)
2T = 16 ----- Adding eqs (i) & (ii)

T, or tens digit = 16%2F2, or 8

8 + U = 14 ----- Substituting 8 for T in eq (i)

U = 14 - 8, or 6

The number is therefore, highlight_green%2886%29.

However, since no clue was given regarding the size of the tens compared to the units digit, the number can also be: highlight_green%2868%29
