You can put this solution on YOUR website!
if we divide 270 in the ratio of 1/2 : 1/3 : 2/3 what is the value of second part ?
-----
(1/2)x + (1/3)x + (2/3)x = 270
----
3x + 2x + 4x = 270
9x = 270
x = 30
-----
2nd part = (1/3)x = (1/3)30 = 10

Use denominator of 6 because of the denominators of 2 and 3.
Divide 270 into ratio of 3/6 : 2/6 : 4/6 ---------
But now you do not need the denominator. The ratio is 3:2:4

Back to the original form of the ratio, you could cut 270 into 3 each of 90. This is one way to arrange 270. Another way is 6 each of 45. Now you can do simple multiplying, mentally, using the original ratio form given.

-----------------------------
3/6 of 270 is 3*45 or 135.
2/6 of 270 is 90.
4/6 of 270 is 180.

if we divide 270 in the ratio of 1/2 : 1/3 : 2/3 what is the value of second part ?

1%2F2 : 1%2F3 : 2%2F3 = 3%2F6 : 2%2F6 : 4%2F6, or 3:2:4.

We now have 9 parts, and can therefore say that the 2nd part = %282%2F9%29+%2A+270, or highlight_green%2860%29

OR

3x + 2x + 4x = 270

9x = 270

x = 270%2F9, or 30

As 2nd part = 2x, it becomes: 2 * 30, or highlight_green%2860%29

By the way,

1st part = 90 and 3rd part = 120

You can do the check!!
