Question 759315: A 50 foot fire truck ladder is leaning against a wall of a burning building. The ladder makes a 70 degree angle with the ground. To the nearest foot, how far up the wall of the building does the ladder reach? Answer by Cromlix(4381) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! Trigonometric ratio
Ladder = Hypotenuse
Wall = Opposite side.
sin = Opposite/Hypotenuse
sin 70 = Opposite/ 50 ft
Opposite = 50 * sin70
Opposite = 46.98 feet
The height the ladder was
up the wall was 46.98 feet.
Hope this helps.
