You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Adjust the equations
x - 3y = 7
x - 3y - 7 =0
x + 2y = 2
x + 2y - 2 = 0
Make the equations equal one another.
x - 3y - 7 = x + 2y -2
Collect like terms
Change signs as you
cross = sign.
x - x - 3y - 2y - 7 + 2 = 0
-5y - 5 = 0
- 5y = 5
y = -1
This is the value of y at the point
of intersection.
Hope this helps.
