Question 757971: How do you do this question? Three times one number added to another is 14. Twice the first number, minus the other number is 1. What are the numbers
You can put this solution on YOUR website! 3x + y = 14
2x - y = 1
Add
5x = 15
x = 3
Substitute x = 3
in Eq 1
3x + y = 14
3(3) + y = 14
9 + y = 14
y = 14 - 9
y = 5
The numbers are 3 and 5
Hope this helps.
