Question 757779: Four cards are randomly selected, with replacement, from a standard deck of cards. Determine the probability that all the selected cards are hearts.
I'm taking a stats class this summer and our teacher gave us the answers but I still can't figure out the problem. The answer is 0.003906 . Thanks! Answer by solver91311(24713) (Show Source):
The probablility of two independent events is the product of the individual probabilities. You have 4 independent events, each of which has a probability of 1/4 (you want one out of four suits, and the probability remains constant because of replacement). Just do the arithmetic.
