You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Ratio of YES:NO = 3:2
Addition of individual ratio gives 5, i.e. 3+2=5
Let total number of votes be x votes.
If there were 1618 NO votes then,
%282%2F5%29%2Ax=1618
=2x%2F5=1618
Cross and multiply:
2x=8090
x=8090%2F2
x=4045
Therefore, there were 4045 votes in total.
CHECK
If there were 1618 NO votes, then there were 2427 YES votes.
4045-1618=2427
Ratio of YES:NO votes
=2427:1618
=3:2
