to find the slope and the y-intercept you first need to write your equation in slope-intercept form y=mx%2Bb where m is the slope and b is the y-intercept

x%2B4y=8....so, solve for y
4y=-x%2B8
y=-x%2F4%2B8%2F4
y=-%281%2F4%29x%2B2
so, the slope is m=-%281%2F4%29 and the y-intercept is b=2, in other words the line intersects y-axis at (0,2)
to find the x-intercept set y=0 and solve for x
x%2B4%2A0=8
x=8...so, the line intersects x-axis at (8,0)
