Question 752993: Find the indicated values for below.
Chart
The chart has two columns with one number in each. For example, under x is -4 and under f(x) is 3 and so on.
_x__ __f(x)__
-4 3
-2 8
0 13
2 18
4 23
a.) f(-2)=
b.) f(2)=
c.) For what value of x is f(x)=13?

You can put this solution on YOUR website!

_x__          __f(x)__
-4               3
-2               8
 0              13
 2              18
 4              23

The red row corresponds to part a)

The green row corresponds to part b)

The blue row corresponds to part c)

So this means...

a.) f(-2)= 8
b.) f(2)= 18
c.) For what value of x is f(x)=13? Answer: x = 0

-------
Notice that when x increases by 2, y increases by 5.
So, when x increases by 1, y increases by 2 1/2.
Notice that y = 13 when x = 0
=====================================
Equation:
y = (5/2)x + 13
a.) f(-2)=(5/2)(-2)+13 = -5+13 = 8
----------------------
b.) f(2)=(5/2)2 + 13 = 5+13 = 18
----------------------
c.) For what value of x is f(x)=13?
(5/2)x + 13 = 13
(5/2)x = 0
x = 0
