Question 752788: Algebra 2- Graphing
graph the two lines associated with the equations :
3x-3y=12
4y-8x=-16
determine the solution to the system.
find the solution to the system (x,y) form.
From reading on how to solve this, i think i have to use the y from the first equation and somehow come up with a y= equation? do i have the right idea?

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Your idea is correct if you want to do that way. You can also look for the axis intercepts of the equations and use them the plot the lines. Your choice. Your system is written as equations in standard form, so for each line, set x to 0 and find y; set y to 0 and find x. Those then are the intercepts for that line. Same for the other line.

Plot the lines and read their intersection. Done.

You want slope intercept form instead? You can!
Ax%2BBy=C
By=-Ax%2BC
y=%28-Ax%2BC%29%2FB
y=-%28A%2FB%29x%2BC%2FB this is slope-intercept form, "y=mx+b"
