I'm not sure what =(5*7)(2*4) means but:
Wouldn't -3s^2 - 10s + 8 factor to:
(-3s + 2)(s + 4)
:
If you FOIL this you will get:
-3s^2 - 12s + 2s + 8
which is:
-3s^2 - 10s + 8
