Question 75141: Change the polar coordinates (4Sqrt2, 3pi/4), to rectangular coordinates.
Answer by funmath(2933) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! Change the polar coordinates (4Sqrt2, 3pi/4), to rectangular coordinates.
Polar coordinates are in the order of (r,theta)
Rectangular coordinates are in the order (x,y)
x=rcos(theta)
x=4sqrt(2)*cos(3pi/4)
x=4sqrt(2)*-sqrt(2)/2
x=-4sqrt(4)/2
x=-4(2)/2
x=-4
y=rsin(theta)
y=4sqrt(2)*sqrt(2)/2
y=4sqrt(4)/2
y=4(2/2)
y=4
(4sqrt(2),3pi/4)=(-4,4)
Happy Calculating!!!!
