Question 749684: What is the area of a rectangle with a diagonal of 12 meters and a height of 7 meters?
I split it into two triangles and assumed 45 degrees, 45 degrees and 90 degrees, assuming specaial right triangles. Then I uesed the pythagriam therom (sp) and did 7%5E2%2Bb%5E2=12%5E2 then i got 49%2Bb%5E2=144 then 'I got b%5E2=+sqrt+%28105%29+ which is around 10.25. The i took that and multiplyed it by 7, and got 71.4 meters squared. Is this right? Thanks!

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Close. 144-49 = 95.
So the base is Sqr(95) = 9.75 and area is 68.23.
Nice work up to one small error. You understood and applied pythagorean theorem correctly, and got the heavy lifting correct.
