| Question 747761: multiply the greater of two consecutive odd integers by 7 gives the same result as adding 164 to the lesser integer.
 so i thought that meant (x+2+x+4)*7=x+164
 but when I started figuring it out, the answer was going to be some weird number with a ton of decimals, but i don't think that's what it's supposed to be.

You can put this solution on YOUR website! We are asked to multiply the greater of two consecutive odd integers by 7 gives the same result as adding 164 to the lesser integer.
 let x be the first odd integer, then x+2 is the next odd integer
 then we have
 (x+2)*7 = x + 164
 7x + 14 = x + 164
 6x = 150
 x = 25
 our two consecutive odd integers are 25 and 27
