Perimeter = 2x length + 2 x width
width = x and length = 3x
Therefore perimeter = 2x + 6x
2x + 6x = 48 yds
8x = 48 yds
x = 6 yds
Width = 6 yds Length = 18 yds
Area = 6 x 18
= 108 yds^2
