Anyway,
a) log (x² - 1) = log 3, you can eliminate the log
(x² - 1) = 3
x = 2
b)log base 2 (x + 3) + log base 2 (x - 3) = log base 2 7
log base 2[(x + 3)(x - 3)]= log base 2 7
(x + 3)(x - 3) = 7
x² - 9 = 7
x = 4
c)log base x + 1 (x² - x) = 2

log base a (Answer) = Exponent
