Question 743523: how do you find the y-intercept of y=log base 2 (x)? I have changed it to an exponential equation. x=2ˆy and put values in for y and made a table with coordinates (1/4,-2), (1/2,-1), (1,0), (2,-1), (4,2) and that would make the x-intercept (1,0). soooo How do I find the y intercept. How can I make x=0?

You can put this solution on YOUR website! y=log base 2 (x)
Normally, to find the y-intercept, set x=0, then solve for y. However, with logs, the argument (x)>0, so logs cannot have y-intercepts. In fact, the y-axis or x=0 are asymptotes of any basic log function of any base.
