You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Dianna runs a race of 2 miles in 8 minutes at a steady speed. Each mile she runs beyond 2 miles, her speed slows 1 mile a minute. How long would it take her to run 5 miles?
:
The rate for the 1st two miles: 4 min/mile
There fore
the 3rd mile takes 5 min
the 4th mile takes 6 min
the 5th mile takes 7 min
-------------------------
last three mile time: 18 min
Add 8 min for the 1st two mi: 26 min for the five miles
