My teacher does more simplified versions of these problems so when we are given ones such as these I get confused as to how to go about them. Some explanations would be greatly appreciated as well as a quick answer to this.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
A(n)=3+2(-1)^n
----
a(1) = 3+2*-1 = 1
a(2) = 3+2*1 = 5
a(3) = 3+2*-1 = 1
a(4) = 3+2*1 = 5
a(5) = 3+2*-1 = 1
======================
Not an arithmetic sequence.
