3x+4y=4
4y=4-3x
substitute 4y in first equation
5x+4-3x=12
2x=8
x=4
so y=-2
(4,-2)

4y=4-3x

Using the "12" equation,
5x%2B4%28y%29=12
SUBSTITUTE FOR y found in "4" equation...
5x%2B4%281-%283%2F4%29x%29=12
5x%2B4-3x=12
