Question 74201: Business and Finance. If the inventor in exercise 53 charges $4 per unit, then her profit for producing and selling x units is given by the function
P(x) = 2.25x-7000
(a) What is her profit if she sells 2000 units?
This is exercise 53 below:
Business and Finance. If the inventor of a new product believes that the cost of producing the product is given by the function
C(x)= 1.75 + 7000
How much does it cost to produce 2000 units of her invention?
$10,500

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
P(x)=2.25x -7000
you would first substitute 2000 with x to find the profit if she sells 2000 units.
P (2000)= -$2500
Now you need to find the profit for 5000 units.
P (5000) = $4250
Finally you need to know what the break-even point of the sales are.
The break-even point of sale is P(x)=0 if 2.25x - 7000 = 0
Then x = 7000/2.25 = 3111.11 units
Good Luck!!
