You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Square both sides of the equation... TWICE.

sqrt%28x+%2B+73%29+%2B+sqrt%28x+-+8%29+=+9
sqrt%28x%2B73%29=9-sqrt%28x-8%29
x%2B73=81-2%2A9%2Asqrt%28x-8%29%2Bx-8
73=81-8-18%2Asqrt%28x-8%29
73=73-18%2Asqrt%28x-8%29
-18%2Asqrt%28x-8%29=0
sqrt%28x-8%29=0
This so far seems to be simpler than some of these can be, so squaring again might be unnecessary.
x-8=0
highlight%28x=8%29.
