You can put this solution on YOUR website!
So you are going to plug in you x and y into your equations.
4 is x
2 is y
For the equation--- y= -5x+22
2= -5(4)+22 That means two equals negative five time by four plus twenty two
2= -20 + 22 That means two equals negative twenty plus twenty two
2=2 That means two equals two which is correct
Next Equation ------ y= 8x - 30
2 = 8(4) - 30 That means two equals eight times four minus thirty
2 = 32 - 30 That means two minus thirty two minus thirty
2 = 2 That means two is equal to two which is correct
It is always ( x, y) in all equations just plug in the numbers
Hope i helped

We are given the following:
Tell whether the ordered pair is a solution of the linear system.
(4,2);
y=-5x+22
y= 8x -30
The ordered pair (4,2) corresponds to x=4, y=2
substitute x=4 in the first equation and we get
y=-5*4+22 and y=-20+22=2
substitute x=4 in the second equation and we get
y=8*4-30=32-30=2
therefore the ordered pair (4,2) is a solution for the two equations, a linear system
