a.) find the equation of the median-median line for the data
b.) Predict the cost of a flight that travels a distance of 1950 miles
Thank you for your help I was having a lot of issues with this. Answer by stanbon(75887) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! The table shows the distance and costs of flights for a given airline with the same starting destination and different ending destinations.
Distance 1281 2796 790 150 3211 7810 812 210 7742 3578 1346 3214
(miles)
Cost 473 683 508 301 1115 3619 587 540 3013 1647 882 817
(Dollars)
a.) find the equation of the median-median line for the data
Note: What do you mean by "median-median line"? Median-median
would give you a point, not a line.
I think what you ways is the least-squares equation.
That would be: cost(x) = 0.0385x + 124.923
I used my TI-84 to get that.
--------------------------
b.) Predict the cost of a flight that travels a distance of 1950 miles
cost(1950) = $875.91
