You can put this solution on YOUR website! 8y^3 + y^4 + 16 + 32y + 24y^2
----------------------------- over
y+ 2
:
First arrange the 4th degree expression in usual descending order:
y^4 + 8y^3 + 24y^2 + 32y + 16
:
(y+2)
y = -2
:
Use synthetic division:
:
....._______________________
-2 | 1 + 8 + 24 + 32 + 16
:
You should get: 1 + 6 + 12 + 8, no remainder
Which is: y^3 + 6x^2 + 12x + 8
:
Portraying synthetic division on this site is pretty tedious, I am hoping you
know how to do it.
