Value Eq::: 5n + 10d + 25q = 500
Quantity Ea: d = 2n
Quantity Eq: q = n + 10

Substitute for "d" and for "q" and solve for "n":
5n + 10(2n) + 25(n+10) = 500
5n + 20n + 25n + 250 = 500
50n = 250
n = 5 (# of nickels)
d = 2n = 10 (# of dimes)
q = n+ 10 = 15 (# of quarters)
