Think about what this graph looks like. No matter what value you select for x, the corresponding
value for y is 3. If x = -5 then y = 3. If x = 0, then y = 3. If x = 8, then y = 3.
If you plot lots of points such as these, you will see that y is a horizontal line through
the point y = 3 on the y-axis.

Now think about the definition of slope. Slope is the change in x divided into the corresponding
change in y. Although x can change along this horizontal line, notice that y never changes.
So the change in y is zero.

Therefore, any change in x divided into the change in y is the same as the change in x
divided into zero. The answer is zero. Therefore, for y = 3 the slope is zero. In fact, for
any horizontal graph the slope is zero.
