here's the equation steps I have so far:
x^2+x^2-4x-4=x^2+4x+4
2x^2-4x-4=x^2+4x+4
(subtracted x^2 from each side)
x^2-4x-4=4x+4
(subtracted 4x from each side)
x^2-8x-4=4
(subtracted 4 from each side)
x^2-8x-8=0

which is:
x^2+(x-2)^2=(x+2)^2
here's the equation steps I have so far:
x^2+x^2-4x+4=x^2+4x+4 ( there was an error in the formula) in this step
2x^2-4x+4=x^2+4x+4
(subtracted x^2 from each side)
x^2-4x+4=4x+4
(subtracted 4x from each side)
x^2-8x+4=4
(subtracted 4 from each side)
x^2-8x=0
x(x-8)=0
x=0 OR x=8
8^2+6^2 = 10^2
LHS = RHS
