You can put this solution on YOUR website!
4(2x-1)=16
8x-4=16
8x=16+4
8x=20
x=20/8
x=5/2 or 2.5
proof
4(2*5/2-1)=16
4(10/2-1)=16
4(5-1)=16
4*4=16
16=16

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
4(2x-1)=16
Start out by distributing the 4
4(2x)+4(-1)=16
8x-4=16
Add 4 to both sides of the equation
8x=20
Divide both sides of the equation by 8
x=20/8
Reduce the fraction (divide top and bottom by 4)
x=5/2
