You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Write the equation of the line that passes through point (0, –9) with a slope of 6.
To solve the equation, you must put it into slope/intercept form, right? Yes. You have to so you can solve the problem. The formula for slope/intercept form is:y=mx%2Bb
So, you have the slope of 6, so insert it into your formula. The variable for Slope is M.
You now have y=6x%2Bb Leave the x where it is.
Now you have y=6x+b and you don't know what to do with it. In the points, pick out the y. What is the y? The y in that set of equations is -9, because x comes before y.
Now you have y=6x%2B-9
To simplify it just switch the signs around and now you have your answer, y=6x-9

Write the equation of the line that passes through point (0, –9) with a slope of 6.
(A)y = –9x + 6(B)–9x + 6y = 0 highlight%28C%29y = 6x – 9 (D)6y = –9
The slope intercept form of a line is highlight%28y=mx%2Bb%29, where m=slope and (0,b)=y-intercept
Your slope, m=6 and your y-interept (0,b)=(0,-9)
y=6x+(-9)
y=6x-9
That is C of your choices.
Happy Calculating!!!!
