It's algebra.

The goal is to get the x (variable) alone. Divide both sides by -2. When you divide by a -, flip the inequality sign.

-2x<6

-2x/-2 > 6/-2

x > -3

-2x < 6
since this is greek to you I will explain in brief
it is an inequation.
meaning there is a ">" greaterthan sign OR "<" less than sign

x> 6 means x is greater than 6.
y<8 means y is less than 8
you solve the same way you solve an equation except that the > or < sign stays there
-2x<6
means -2x is less than 6
/2
-x <6
when you reverse the sign of x then you have to change the inequality sign.
/-1
x>6 is you answer

These types of equations are called Inequalities.
-2x < 6
means -2x is less than 6
Divide each side by -2
-2x/-2 < 6/-2
x > -3
Please Note: When you divide an inequality with a negative number
you flip the inequality sign.

Answer:

x > -3
