| Question 737925: Please check my answer, I am not sure which is correct
 Problem: (2x^4-3x^2+8x-1)-(x^4+3x^3+x+4)
 answer: x^4-3x^3-3x^2+7x-5 OR x^4-3x^2+7x-5-3x^3
 (x^4)+(-3x^2)+(-3x^3)+(7x)+(-5)=x^4-3x^3-3x^2+7x-5
In what order do results have to be? Which order is correct because I have been it the other way as well.
 Thanks

You can put this solution on YOUR website! Please check my answer, I am not sure which is correct Problem: (2x^4-3x^2+8x-1)-(x^4+3x^3+x+4)
 answer: x^4-3x^3-3x^2+7x-5 OR x^4-3x^2+7x-5-3x^3
The answers are the same, just different order.
Descending order is customary, and expected.
 x^4-3x^3-3x^2+7x-5
 -----------------------------
 (x^4)+(-3x^2)+(-3x^3)+(7x)+(-5)=x^4-3x^3-3x^2+7x-5
In what order do results have to be? Which order is correct because I have been it the other way as well.
 -------------
Any order is correct, and they're all the same answer. Descending order makes it easier to do and to check.
