You mistyped your equation. The characters on the same key being "=" and "+", you must mean to write y=%28x%2B4%29%5E2-1.

That parabola equation is already in standard form, allowing you to read enough information to begin sketching its graph. The vertex is (-4,-1), and the vertex is a minimum (as we know based on the sign of the coefficienton the square term being positive 1). Let y=0 and solve for x to find the x intercepts:
0=%28x%2B4%29%5E2-1
%28x%2B4%29%5E2=1
x%2B4=-1 or x%2B4=1
x=-5 or x=-3 as x intercepts.
but you could choose a couple other points to help get a better sense of the size of the parabola.
