You can put this solution on YOUR website!
You can solve by adding the 2 equations together since there is a 1/3x and a -1/3x.
y=-1%2F3x%2B1
+y=1%2F3x-3
----------------
2y=-2Now solve for y
y=-1
Plug this back into y=-1%2F3x%2B1
-1=-1%2F3x%2B1
-2=-1%2F3x
%28-2%29%2A%28-3%29=x
x=6
So the solution is (6,-1)
Check:
-1=%28-1%2F3%29%286%29%2B1
-1=-2%2B1
-1=-1works
-1=%281%2F3%29%286%29-3
-1=2-3
-1=-1works
