Question 734454: A new transmission line is being installed to connect 2 cities, but it must be diverted since a direct route would take it over a provincial wild life sanctuary. Aerial survey shows that the most efficient route will be when angle RAC = 135 degrees and angle CBS = 152 degrees the direct route AB is 12.4. By how much does the diversion increase the length of the transmission line?
This question has a diagram which is a triangle which is ABC, passing through the base of that triangle is a dotted line going past the triangle base which is R and S. In between in the middle of the triangle and a bit passed the triangle base is the wild life sanctuary.
