You can put this solution on YOUR website!
2(x+3)=9+x.
-----
2x+6 = 9+x
-----
2x-x = 9-6
----
x = 3

You can put this solution on YOUR website!

2%28x%2B3%29=9%2Bx....first multiply 2%28x%2B3%29

2x%2B6=9%2Bx....now isolate variable x; add -x to both sides

2x-x%2B6=9%2Bx-x...cancel x and -x on right side
2x-x%2B6=9
x%2B6=9.....add -6 to both sides
x%2B6-6=9-6...cancel 6 and -6 on left side
x=9-6
highlight%28x=3%29...solution for variable x and it is only solution that makes 2%28x%2B3%29=9%2Bx true
