I am having a hard time with ratio / proportions. The question is if an airplane (or aircraft) flies 1260 miles in 3 hours. How far will it travel in 5 hours ? I have looked over in my book examples but its not helping me. I don't know the formula to get to the answer if you could help me out.
The above question is pretty easy !
Let x be the miles traveled in 5 hours.
Therefore:
1260/3 = x/5
Cross multiply the above.
We get:
3x = 6300
x = 2100 miles
Therefore:
Answer: In 5 hours he will travel 2100 miles.
