x-2%28x-6%29=2-%284x%2B5%29......first multiply 2%28x-6%29
x-%282x-12%29=2-%284x%2B5%29....eliminate parentheses, both have negative sign in front of them, so you will change signs inside of them
x-2x%2B12=2-4x-5
-x%2B12=-4x-3
-x%2B4x=-12-3
3x=-15
x=-15%2F3
x=-5
