Question 730204: Two trains start out on a head on collision course, each travelling at 20 km/h on a straight track towards each other, starting from 8km apart.
At the start of the journey there is a bee, which was asleep on the front of the first train but got startled and started flying at 30km/h away from the train along the track. He kept flying until he saw the second train, got scared and then turned around and headed in the opposite direction at the same speed. This was fine until he saw the first train bearing down on him, so he did a quick 180-degree turn and headed the other way, until he came across the second train again (obviously). He naturally turned around and headed the other way. The bee continued going back and forth until the two trains collided and he was ultimately shuffled off this mortal coil.
So: how many kilometers did the ill-fated bee fly?
