      (a+3a^2+2a^3)-1(a^4-a^3)     distribute -1 to (a^4-a^3)

 

  a + 3a^2 + 2a^3 - a^4 + a^3     Combine like terms (terms with the same exponent



  

  a + 3a^2 + 2a^3 - a^4 + a^3 



  a + 3a^2 + 3a^3 - a^4



  -a^4 + 3a^3 + 3a^2 + a         Arrange the terms in descending order

                                 Highest exponent should be written first in this case
