Question 729954: Problem: 3/X^2-3X-4 - X-3/X^2-16
My attempt: Factor then find LCD
3/(X-4)(X+1) - X-3/(X+4)(X-4)
LCD: (X-4)(X+4)(X+1)
multiply
3(X+4)- X-3(X+1)
change sign
3X+12 + -X^2 -1X+3X+3
(Simplifying is where I have my problem...negative variable.)
-X^2+5X+15/(X-4)(X+4)(X+1)
Do I multiply a negative one out to change the signs?
And finally, can this be factored?
