Question 728818: Jacque has grade of 70 and 85 oh her first two algebra tests. If she wants an average of at least 73. What possible scores she can make on her third test Answer by solver91311(24713) (Show Source):
If the average of three things is some number, then the sum of the three things must be 3 times the average. So the sum of the three tests must be at least 3 times 73. From that subtract 70 plus 85. The result is the minimum score that she can make on the third test. The maximum, of course, is whatever the maximum possible score might be on the test. If these scores are percentages, the maximum is 100.
