Question 728743: When do you use substitution ?
Answer by dr8(3) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! You would use the substitution method if you have an equation like the following:
x + 10 = 15
3x + 4y = 22
Since there is only one variable in the first equation, you would find x. After finding x, you would substitute x in the second equation. Now you should have one variable in the second equation, and are able to find the answer to the equation.
